It's All About Me Blog Hop

Today is my day for the It's All about Me Blog Hop

Thanks to Mdm Samm, Amy Bradley, and  Marlene for creating, providing a pattern and hosting/cheer-leading this event.

Now, if you've read my blog in the past you are aware that I tend to bend the rules on these things and while I liked Amy's pattern she provided...it didn't speak to me until I altered it slightly to look like my Quilt Muse...

Presto, here she is...

I couldn't decide what to have her say...

My choices I came up with were:
1. Girl, Go On...Quilt!
2. Go On Girl, Buy the Bolt!
3. Your Stash Needs Something...Better Go Shopping!

I ended up going with choice number #2.  I used a font in Microsoft Word and hand embroidered the message...then I stretched her over a frame like this project and she is now egging me on in my sewing room...can you say enabler...

Now please go visit all the Me-types sharing this day on the Blog hop...

Love the hair! Yeah, I'm not that graceful yet, so the thinner version is creative as well as the change in words.

Considering that you have entitled your blog "Kris Loves Fabric" I would say that you have made a "YOU" that describes you well. A slimmed down shorter haired version of the original design. Woohoo!

self enabler -- love it. I also love how you made her not so dumpy looking and instead went for fierce. If you get the time you might consider making a companion to this one with the 3rd line that you were pondering -- you know complete the circle.

Daryl @ Patchouli Moon Studio said...

Oh so now you can look at your little quilt and get permission to buy more fabric, huh? Lol. So darn cute!

Rosemary B here: love this. YOu are in great shape.
I adore the font, the words and your hand embroidery. AND the fabrics!
Yes, we reach a point in life where the only permission we really need is our own. Go do it girl. :-P
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing adorable project!

What a terrific project and now a terrific addition to your sewing room! I think you caught the sentiment of many a quilter - buy the whole bolt! I was sick one day when I went to my LQS and one of the workers was cutting fat quarters off bolts as she was unpacking them. I thought she was ruining full bolts. I thought one might be headed to her personal stash. My understanding is that she does all the purchasing for the shop. She's the sister of the owner. So, I bet she has perks. She's really a very, sweet helpful lady, so I had no problem, except sometimes I do want a full bolt because I try to use some of my backing fabric in the front also. Again, a great job. Thanks for blogging and getting today off to a great inspirational start.

Oh, that girl sits on my shoulder encouraging me to do that way too often!!! She's adorable!!!

LJ said...

What a hoot! Now that's the kind of friend to have in your sewing room. I might have to have a reverse side that would say, "Heavens, you don't need that; you have way too much fabric now!" That way when my hubby comes into the sewing room, he'd think I was working on 'fabric control!'

Di said...

Oooh, haven't we all heard those little urgings! What a clever little project, and I love the wild hair. Great job!
