Lego Harry Potter QAL with Whims and Fancies

If you are looking for my blocks for the In Our Garden QAL click here (there is a giveaway too!)

I had a very nice weekend and in between outside adventures managed to sew up my friend Soma's first Lego Harry Potter quiltalong block...I love her designs, they always fascinate me with the detail she manages to fit within her blocks...

Dumbledore is assisting with color / fabric choices for this project and I believe he has hit upon a good range with this bundle I found at Yoders Department Store in Shipshewana last week.

I also bought the new HP book/screenplay Sunday and, well...I didn't care for it  :(  Anyone else read it yet?

Love your first block! You did a great job on Soma's pattern.

Great block! I read the book in one evening it was easy and fast to read and it made me realize how much I miss HP and the wizard world. Personally I'm not so happy with the book although it's good written and fun but then I would have killed Harry in the seventh book (together with Voldemort of couse for a clean if not nice ending) so perhaps I'm not the best judge;-)

Nice block. I liked how HP ended and I am not resolved to go further.

Nice block! My daughter read it essentially in a single sitting. I think she has mixed feelings about it. She liked the idea that the story continued but some bits of the plot she wasn't happy with.

Love the block, specially the print you used. She looks beautiful, Kris!! As far as I am concerned the story ended with Deathly Hallows.

Love this block! I want to do this, but right now there is no way I can. So...of course, I'm jealous that you made it. :O)
