Working Through a Bit of Quilter's Block

I haven't been sewing much lately...managed to get most of my son's recent awards sewn on his letter jacket but not sure that counts as sewing - that is mostly trying not to think bad thoughts while wrangling leather-like sleeves through the machine and sewing down letters.  Why is it so much more fun to sew patchwork than repair or embellish clothes?  I suppose it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Anyway, I thought I would change gears and try a new handwork project to get back in the mood to sew...

I believe it worked and I am looking forward to starting another...

This is my first Brimfield Block...

It is an EPP block that you assemble then applique to a background square and you can find the details here if you want to play along, they are hosting a SAL on Instagram right now.
