X Block Blog Hop

So happy to join you all today with a fun project suggested by Doris of Quilting Queen Online the new owner of X Blocks templates and Amy of Sew Incredibly Crazy.  We were given the opportunity to work with the amazing Block X templates and patterns to make a fun quilt.

I used the Pocketful of Posies Pattern  without the suggested border and the 7 1/2" X blocks Template.  It made a kind of elongated petal effect with the way they are joined.

I used Kona School Bus and Kaufman Quilter's Linen in Navy and Royal Blue with a Vanilla Grunge background.

I love the graphic effect and I think a baby will enjoy looking at this quilt as much as snuggling into it!  :)

Thanks Doris and Amy for letting me play along with this project today!

Please make sure to visit the others and see all the wonderful creations in this fun hop!

Very pretty Kris! You chose great colours for your quilt. Love how they make a pinwheel type block at all the intersections - little Posies.

I love the design you chose. It reminds me of a pinwheel as too. It almost looks like the pinwheel is spinning. I love the Kona school bus fabric with the blues and white. I love yellow with blues and white. I just adore blue and a shade of yellow with it makes my heart happy. Thank you for sharing the beautiful quilt that is perfect for a baby.

Lovely colors for a beautiful quilttop!
I think this pattern looks much nicer in solids, after seeing yours, I can imagine to sew this pattern to.
I do look forward to see it after quilting and to see which border you`ll add.

Great quilt and a baby will develop better focus as he/she trains the eye on the blocks of color. It will be treasured always. Beautiful!

I to love that petal effect you mentioned, it's like a pinwheel but different... Wasn't this a fun ruler to use, I really enjoyed the ability to set the ruler in a specific way and cut the block not really knowing if it was going to turn out or not. :) I'm not usually like that, I like knowing how something is going to work out, but I really took mine on as a project of wonder, trying to think outside the box. :)
