Virtual Cookie Exchange and Giveaway

So when my friend Carol announced she was going to host this blog hop again, I had to play along!  I have been enjoying everyone's fun creations this year!  Thanks for a fun idea and for hosting Carol!!!

Welcome to my day for sharing a cookie!

Oatmeal-Cherry Chocolate Chippers
1 2/3 cup flour
2 1/4 cup rolled oats
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract
1 cup dried tart cherries
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

Combine flour, oats, and baking soda and whisk together in a bowl.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugars.  Gradually add the vanilla and eggs.  With mixer on low speed, gradually add the flour mixture above.  Add dried cherries and chocolate chips last.

Bake for 9-11 minutes in 350 degree oven.

If you made it down this far, surprise...I have a small giveaway -

This is a kit with wool and pattern to make a cutie snowman pin cushion.  To enter the giveaway, just comment and tell me where you live and your favorite Christmas cookie :)  (I am in Indiana and my fave Christmas cookie is my Grandma's Date Pinwheels!)  I will draw for the prize on Monday. GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED.

Thanks Carol for a fun chance to share and celebrate this Christmas season.

I live in Indiana also! Hi Neighbor! I don't know which part of Indiana you live in, but here in my suburb of Indianapolis it is COLD! I am watching little snowflakes flurry by my window this morning. I can't wait to try your cookies, I wish I had one right now to go with my tea. My all-time favorite cookie is the good old Peanut Butter Blossom cookie! Love them! My mom used to make really delicious spritz cookies, but I have no idea how to make them.

Please skip over me for the giveaway but I just had to say...wow, your recipe is exactly what I actually made last night. My 23 year old son just stole the 2nd dozen right out of the freezer!! This recipe is amazing and mine were precisely the same without the cherries. My family is more of the chocolate chip type but it were just up to me, I'ld throw in dried cherries, raisins and cranberries into everything that I make. Thanks so much for the holiday recipe!
