The Tammy Bag Blog Hop

Thanks to Madam Samm for generously providing an awesome "to go" project bag pattern she has named the Tammy...if you want your own copy of the pattern, you can find it here.

I chose a Premier Fabrics dandelion print, because at the time I made this, that was about the only thing blooming in my yard and it seemed a good choice...you can see one of the culprits next to the bag...lol!

Here is the back...
 Here is the front...
And this is the inside of my Tammy bag!  I have made very few bags and this one came together very easily courtesy of good instructions :)  The only difficulty I had was getting the fabric to nest into the frame channel because I used a home dec weight fabric as well as a fusible Pellon fleece...a whole lotta layers to get into a small space...it turned right side out pretty easily though and I like the feel of the bag itself...lots of pockets to fill and it has a great finished look about it.  I will travel with style as I carry my notions :)  Thanks so much Madam Samm for a wonderful project!
And, for those with inquiring minds here is what I've been carrying about in my bag...
Jane's hexie templates, 12 wt. Aurifil thread for embroidery, marking pencil, scissors, needles, fabric, clips, and a tiny pin cushion.  I am working on a few things at once...my usual way of doing things.
And now, there are a few more posies in the yard...(guess I should make another Tammy)

Please visit the others in the Hop today...

  19. I love the "dent de lion" to go along with the French purse. What could be more fitting? A French fleur with a French purse!! As a child, I picked dandelions from the yard and took them to my mom. She had a small vase that she put them in and proudly displayed them as if they were roses from the rose bush. The purse is bright and cheery and I love the wordy print with it. It is perfect. Yellow is one of my favorite colors and seeing how you made it look so perfect in the bag, I know why!

  24. Pretty flowers but even prettier Tammy bag. I love the yellow dandelion print you used the interior piece accents it quite nicely. Well done, Kris.

Our yard would be a clover patch this year. I don't think the dandelions are standing a chance with THAT invasion! Mowing just seems to make more.
