My goal for this month was to finish about 700 of these units:
for this quilt:
I made it, yay!!
This is the first time I used my Juki to piece, I had only used it for straight line quilting tops before. I am a fan - it did very well and it is fast! Good thing too, because the weather has been phenomenal and I have spent way more time outside than I usually do in February.
Now I am ready to start making some star blocks!!

Design Wall
I received a very nice early Valentine's gift from my husband this year...a design wall!!
It is 48" x 92" of batting covered insulation board and it is perfect!!
I had to take down a huge bookcase and shift around some other furniture to bare enough wall to make it happen and unfortunately it still looks like a tornado hit my sewing room as a result but ...soon...I will be using this, yay!
What it looked like before covering it with batting. We just wrapped it with batting and duct taped it to the back.
Installed and ready for action.
A few of my Green Tea Sweet Beans blocks up to show it works :)

Shenandoah Botanical Quilt - February Red Tulip Block
This is a project I am hoping to finish this year, my top is sewn but I am spacing out my block reveal to follow along with the sew-along. I am hoping to get my top sandwiched and quilted this winter. I am sewing along with the Shenandoah Valley Botanical Quilt project - the pattern is provided by the Virginia Quilt Museum and all pattern sales benefit the museum. Dawn, from Collector with a Needle, and Doreen, from Aunt Reen’s Place, are hosting a quiltalong for this quilt, here.
This is my version of the block chosen for February, Red Tulip:
Sorry for the washed out photo, the weather has been too icky for outside photography, grey, wet and muddy...blech!

One Monthly Goal - February 2017
This is my second time linking to OMG , (Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal February Linkup. )this year, thanks for the motivation Patty! I was able to complete my January goal so I am going to join in again this month.
My project this month is a "new" quilt project for me that I have had sitting in a "to-do pile" as fabric I pulled from my stash and the pattern for (I think) 3 years!! It is a Primitive Gatherings pattern that my friend and I found and adored the sample hanging in their booth at a quilt show. It's called Colfax County:
My friend Cheryl is also making this quilt using the same background fabric as I am but different blues...the prep has taken us each about two weeks- so much cutting- I am not sure how many hundreds of pieces I have cut to make this quilt!! We are trying to urge each other on with encouragement that we will get this finished :) The hst's are 1" finished. Yes, they are...and, yes, there are a lot of them! Glad to have those little sweeties finished!!
Lots of background pieces cut too...
My goal for this month is to sew the triangle components for this quilt, I need close to 700 of this completed unit.
Those of you who know me well are aware I rarely sew with blue so my stash dive for this quilt went quite deep...that blue star print is a Marcus Bros. from... wait for it...1987!
