We Made it Home

Hi all, we are back!!

My son has a fall break in October in lieu of having August off because his school has what they call a balanced calendar.  We made plans to travel west this year to the Grand Canyon.  After 3800 miles driving, we are back home again.

We all agree the scenery here is as beautiful as anything we saw...

I plan on posting soon some pics of our travels...but this one is for Carol...Happy Halloween...we saw this on the Grand Canyon Rim Trail...my son threw a nickel out there so you could see the size...tarantula, perhaps?  I narrowly missed stepping on it and bit back a loud scream...I hate spiders!!  This one would have covered my palm if I had cared to let it.

Your colors are glorious. Those scream "autumn" to me.

We had one of those tarantulas make its way into our shower. We kept if for a few days as a pet and then released it back into the yard. They are big and hairy so if you are not a spider fan, I can imagine your shock!

Welcome home! It's nice to travel.....but.....there's no place like home! I don't mind spiders, but when I can see the hair on their legs, I have to admit that they do give me the creeps and are captured and escorted outside.

Glad you got to go to the Grand Canyon. Love the balanced school year, but the middle boy goes to a different school so he still had class the two weeks the others were off. Gorgeous fall colors.

Ooooo creepy spider...too creepy for even me. Icky, yikes, eeek, and run screaming away! The colors are so beautiful on those photos. Wish you'd been at the other rim so I could have popped on over and said, "hi!"
