The weather outside is very cloudy/grey/dreary and just not good for outside photos so I thought I would dig out my favorite thrift market find quilt and show you a few blocks...
I have had this quilt 15 years or more. I bought it at a Christmas Craft Bazaar at a local church for 40 dollars. I call it my Happy Quilt because the colors and fabrics just dance, I love it so. Ironically, it also makes me sad because although it was lovingly made and hand quilted there is no label to tell us who made it and when. And some family sold their heirloom seemingly not interested in it's tie to their heritage. My uneducated guess is maybe the 1940's or 1950's?
I hope it brings you a smile, as it does to me...I will try to get a full picture of the whole thing when the weather is better, if you like?

yes this so makes me happy..it is brighter than our days
What a great quilt! I'm terrible about labeling and dating my quilts. I guess I better do that because someday someone will write a post just like this about one of my quilts. I hope the sun peeks out to give you some brighter days!
It is a happy quilt and am so glad you have loved it.
Beautiful quilt. I see some feedsack material in there. I had some orphan blocks that I got from my ex husband's grandmother when she passed away about 25 years ago. There were fabrics like that in the blocks. I used them and made up a quilt for my MIL at the time.
I love handling old quilts. I sure hope in years to come, my old quilts end up in such loving hands.
Yes, it is definitely a happy quilt and a comfy quilt! I am understanding the importance of labels, thanks for the reminder :)
