So, onto mine...
First off, an apology...I had visions of 9 18" finished blocks in a finished quilt top...it.didn't.happen....I only have 4 blocks done and life got in the way...unfortunately. I hope to show it soon but it's just not in the cards for today.
So, I have a fun project to show you instead that I think little boys would find to be fun to play with...if the way to a man's heart is his stomach...the way to a little boys may well be through pretend food! You can find the pattern and directions here.
As you can see, I have a little bakery box to put this felt cherry pie in...
And the lattice crust adds an extra fancy touch. I have made many of these for nieces and nephews and took to reducing the pattern down so that I could put them in mini metal tart pans purchased at the store.
P.S. this makes a fun pincushion too!
I hate to say anything because it looks like she's shut her business down from the search I did but this pie originally comes from this lovely business and below are a couple other things made with her patterns...I suppose you could still make them with your own inspiration as she has beautiful pics here....I wish I had bought more of her patterns while she was in business. I've made boxes of this type of play food for nieces and nephews and it has always been a hit. The boys especially like the pancakes, bacon, and fried eggs, I've found :) Another special request I have had is Chicken Mcnuggets which I suggest if you make these to get a container from McD's to put them in as they look like something else otherwise....ummmm, nuff said!!
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a slice of cake...
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
Thanks for letting me show an oldie but goodie from my past crafting!

Love all your cute little food for play. They are all just adorable!
Great idea for pretend treats! Love that the sandwich is a build-your-own.
Yummy - that chocolate cake looks good to me... and that pie is so nice with its lattice top. Great things to share.
What an excellent idea, play food! That is what I love about blog hops, you never know what might fit into the theme, you certainly came up with something clever! And you did not give up; when your first post did not turn out as planned, you came up with something fun to share that was still in the theme, very well done of you! I have actually looked at that lady's store too! I was bummed her site seems to be down too. I was looking to make food for my daughter and she popped up in searching.
Your idea is wonderful with play food. I could imagine that the boys will love to play with the toys.
Thanks for sharing and being part of this hop.
Kids love felt play food. Your fabulous food will no doubt provide endless hours of play.
Cute stuff, Kris.
My great nephew has some play-food erasers. I think his mom would prefer these, not so dangerous to nibble on. Thanks for sharing.

My son works in a grocery store and his son loves to play with "play" food. Thanks for sharing! How rude when life gets in the way of quilting! :)
Love all the food patterns....but mostly love how honest you were about your finish. I finished my quilt top...but didn't get it quilted. Love the deadline of a bloghop...love the people...but sometimes...life gets busy. Thanks for sharing cute stuff. Be looking forward to your quilt top finish.
Love those pretend food projects. My kids loved to play with those, mostly plastic ones in their day though. Now that I have a grandbaby, I thought I should make some fabric ones. Thanks for sharing those.
Great little projects. Thanks for the pattern. Hope life settles down for you!
Great toys for boys and pin cushions for the quilters! Jane
Cute ideas for play food and so fun! Life does get in the way sometimes...I hope things get better so you can finish that "vision" of a quilt. :O)
I spy PBJ... Who wouldn't love to play with PBJ! :-)
Yum and no calories either!
My grandson would like these, but by the time I got them finished.......lol
How cute! My boys would love these!
Felt food...what fun!
PB & J...can't ever go wrong with that. Everyday my son was in grade school bhevpackef his lunch and all he ever wanted was PB & J. No matter how we tried to get him to eat other things. Guess it could have been worse. You did a terrific job with them all.
A very neat idea, I could use a peanut better sandwich right now..Thanks for sharing
Cute idea and it does fit in with the theme in my humble opinion. Thanks for the cute ideas.
these are fun, my grandson and I designed some too.. He loved it.
The PB & J looks good enough to eat :)
Your pretend food "For the Boys" is very clever. I should have pretend cake as I am certain it has zero calories and fat. :o) Thanks for hopping. Creative Stitching Bliss...
Fun food. Wow - that has no calories. Can I have some? Loved seeing all of it. Thanks for sharing.
What a clever idea and you're right, food is the perfect choice for boys! :)
Great idea for entertaining little boys and little girls for that matter. Looking forward to your quilt. It is disheartening when life gets in the way but we've all had it happen. So thanks for coming to the party anyhow.
