It also finishes at 8 inches and to me looks wonderful with the other blocks so far...hopefully I won't get kicked out of the club! I also shopped for sashing fabric this week and am auditioning which choices to use now.
And maybe I'll make the posted block...someday...

Your block is a great substitution. I wonder how many will attempt the posted block.
This is a nice block substitution. I looked at the block for this week and it looks like a drunkards path, but not sure I you would do the star points.
I still love your block! And it was a very smart choice.
