As you can see...none of these pups resemble Sam but they sure make for a pretty happy quilt!
A closer look at the organic straight line quilting.
I used fabrics from my stash for this quilt with Moda Vanilla Grunge for the background. It was a lot of fun picking out "unusual colors/patterns" for the pups!
Big thanks to Lorna for fun inspiration and the pattern. You can make your own by visiting Sew Fresh Quilts for the pattern.
For my version, I used her larger size dog patterns #1, #2 and #5 and bordered them with 3 1/2" strips of background fabric resulting in a generous twin size of 88" x 66".

ReplyDeleteI love all of these beautiful colorful puppies. The straight line quilting just allows them so shine. Sam is a cutie, for sure! And he is made up of two of the best dogs ever, so by default he would have to be an angel.
