Dog Gone Cute Blog Hop My Day

 This is my buddy Sam...he is our Black Lab - German Shepherd Mix who is the most jolly soul I know.

He and I welcome you to our day to share in the Dog Gone Cute Blog hop hosted by Lorna from Sew Fresh Quilts...

This is my quilt...

As you can see...none of these pups resemble Sam but they sure make for a pretty happy quilt!
A closer look at the organic straight line quilting. 

I used fabrics from my stash for this quilt with Moda Vanilla Grunge for the background.  It was a lot of fun picking out "unusual colors/patterns" for the pups!
Big thanks to Lorna for fun inspiration and the pattern.  You can make your own by visiting Sew Fresh Quilts for the pattern.  

For my version, I used her larger size dog patterns #1, #2 and #5 and bordered them with 3 1/2" strips of background fabric resulting in a generous twin size of  88" x 66".

    I love all of these beautiful colorful puppies. The straight line quilting just allows them so shine. Sam is a cutie, for sure! And he is made up of two of the best dogs ever, so by default he would have to be an angel.

    Sam is certainly a very handsome fellow. He looks like he's smiling! Maybe he's smiling at your quilt? I can see why. It turned out absolutely gorgeous! Love those bright pups against the white background, Kris. And the straight line quilting is beautiful!

    I am so glad to see you use many brighter colors as I was thinking someday I need to make one or two of these for donation quilts, but I like using bright colors for them. I love how yours came out.

    I love the colors you used, and isn't the grunge line so useful? I have it for a table topper that is in the works and it just makes the best background. I'm so glad to have time to comment on the blogs finally, it's only been a few weeks... :) Have a great weekend!
