My project utilizes the Twister ruler and some oldie but goodie Snowman S'mores Moda fabric by Me and My Sister Designs. I love this fabric...so cute! I didn't want a quilt pattern with tiny pieces because I wanted to be able to see all these little guys smiling at me intact, lol!
And here is the completed top...be sure to notice our field of corn in the background signifying Christmas in July / August in Indiana...

ReplyDeleteI wish I was looking at cornfields in the Midwest as it would mean I was home visiting family. I'm not going back till October this year and will miss it when it looks tall and green.
Good idea to photograph on the clothesline deal. I want one of those but have no idea what they are really called or where to look around here for one.

ReplyDeleteYou know how I love to make what you make, but the Twister quilt just looks like too much work for me. LOL! It is so beautiful and I love it hanging in the breeze on your round clothesline (my sister has one and I've been wanting one.) I'd want all those snowman faces smiling at me, too.

Yalls corn looks really good. Thankfully we've got a good crop this year too. It has gotten really tall and has been really wet - I am so afraid ours will blow down before it frosts and we can get it harvested.

ReplyDeleteI love seeing colors other than red and green on Christmas quilts. Looks like santa has the blues (but in a good way). And don't worry about that Twister quilt twisting in the wind! It just got confused thinking Santa was blowing in from the North Pole! That's a quilt you can keep up all year long, for sure! Thanks for showing all your pics!

I have two different size of twister templates and have not used either. Your "pastel" Christmas snowman quilt makes me want to use them. I love the light feel to the quilt for snowmen. Often folks use a stark contrast to a light neutral for the snow. Very, very nice job. Thank you for participating and showing your creativity. I like the corn in the background. One of my favorite pictures of my father was one of him among the corn. Right now some wind would be a welcome relief to the heat. Except many residents in Tulsa county had extreme wind damage from straight winds and the damage particularly to trees (and some residences) has been enormous. The time frame for rubbish collection is months. I love your outt takes.

Oh my goodness...my nephew would love your quilt. He is a big fan of the smores. LOL It has become a running joke with him. Your quilt is so much fun. I would so buy that fabric if it was still in production. I am off to google to see if I can find some. LOL He will love it! Thanks for sharing!
