My project utilizes the Twister ruler and some oldie but goodie Snowman S'mores Moda fabric by Me and My Sister Designs. I love this fabric...so cute! I didn't want a quilt pattern with tiny pieces because I wanted to be able to see all these little guys smiling at me intact, lol!
And here is the completed top...be sure to notice our field of corn in the background signifying Christmas in July / August in Indiana...
And...just to keep it real...here are a couple outakes...it has been REALLY windy around here...not easy to take topper photos...
Thanks for stopping by today and please be sure to stop by these blog posting participants I share the day with...

ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt top and such cute fabrics. I love your outtakes. I have quite a few of those myself. Sometimes I don't realize how windy it is till I want to take a photo of my quilt tops. Sometimes slightest breezes seem like hurricane winds. :)
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is just too cute! Great job on your twister topper. It is adorable!
ReplyDeleteOOOH, lovely lovely fabrics so no wonder you didn't want to slice up those snowmen! Wonderful quilt top, Kris.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was looking at cornfields in the Midwest as it would mean I was home visiting family. I'm not going back till October this year and will miss it when it looks tall and green.
Good idea to photograph on the clothesline deal. I want one of those but have no idea what they are really called or where to look around here for one.
Thanks for sharing your pretty twister quilt.
ReplyDeleteKris I like your twister quilt. Plus those colors are great fun and not your usual green and red. Looks fun blowing in the breeze.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is fun and happy. Your photography is is great too.
ReplyDeleteIndiana what a beautiful state, I drive through it many times to get to NY from NE. The quilt in the wind is so pretty and the corn looks great.
ReplyDeleteGood job! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous - I love the twister block!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
I also love twister quilts and this is so neat.....hope it didn't blow away!
ReplyDeleteYou know how I love to make what you make, but the Twister quilt just looks like too much work for me. LOL! It is so beautiful and I love it hanging in the breeze on your round clothesline (my sister has one and I've been wanting one.) I'd want all those snowman faces smiling at me, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun colors in your snowman quiltie. I sure do hope that wind is bringing a cool breeze. Unlike the miserable heat we have been dealing with!
ReplyDeleteHi Kris!
ReplyDeleteI love your Twister quilt. I haven't tried the Twister ruler yet. Is it difficult?
Yalls corn looks really good. Thankfully we've got a good crop this year too. It has gotten really tall and has been really wet - I am so afraid ours will blow down before it frosts and we can get it harvested.
I love the photos

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun fabric choice for this piece. There is something summery about smores. Perfect for celebrating Christmas in jugust
ReplyDeleteLovely topper, love your corn field. I think the first outtake picture is great. You can still see the quilt and the wind gives it some character.

Beautiful twister quilt ... I love the fabrics you use.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to make a twister top - love Me and My sister fabrics. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI just love that fabric! It made an awesome looking Twister quilt top.
ReplyDeleteI like designs that show off the fabric, too. Your quilt is super. Love the "blowing in the wind" pics.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing colors other than red and green on Christmas quilts. Looks like santa has the blues (but in a good way). And don't worry about that Twister quilt twisting in the wind! It just got confused thinking Santa was blowing in from the North Pole! That's a quilt you can keep up all year long, for sure! Thanks for showing all your pics!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt top is beautiful. The nontraditional colors add to its charm--and allows one to feel that it can stay out all year! Just what snowman lovers like! Enjoyed the breezy photos as that is what it's like here in central Illinois too. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love your twister quilt, every time I see a twister project it makes me want to start one! Thank you for sharing, happy quilting!
ReplyDeleteI love this twister quilt. I bought the twister tool but havent used it yet. Maybe I should get it out and get busy. I love snowman. Thanks for sharing

I have two different size of twister templates and have not used either. Your "pastel" Christmas snowman quilt makes me want to use them. I love the light feel to the quilt for snowmen. Often folks use a stark contrast to a light neutral for the snow. Very, very nice job. Thank you for participating and showing your creativity. I like the corn in the background. One of my favorite pictures of my father was one of him among the corn. Right now some wind would be a welcome relief to the heat. Except many residents in Tulsa county had extreme wind damage from straight winds and the damage particularly to trees (and some residences) has been enormous. The time frame for rubbish collection is months. I love your outt takes.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is wonderful!! I've never tried this but I really like yours.
ReplyDeleteSew cute! I haven't seen this fabric, and I love it! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love this. I need to get the big twister ( so I can copy you!)

ReplyDeleteI love this quilt!! I, too, have the Twister and am still afraid to use mine...one day!
ReplyDeleteI have a few twisters but I haven't used them yet. Another someday project.
ReplyDeleteI really like your fabric choice
