Grape Jelly Time
My concord grapes have been screaming for attention so I have been making jelly! With all the corn, tomatoes, peppers and onions...my freezer is becoming a treasure trove for winter.
I have been working on my dotty project but that is secret...

Hello Sun August Block Done
I wish I could say that I was keeping up with all of my BOMs this year, but at least I am keeping up with this one! If you want to join us, April has the free patterns on her blog Making Ends Meet. I couldn't resist taking the picture on our newly green grass. The last couple days of rain have been a miracle on my lawn!

Grannies Done and More Happy Mail!
So I found a group on Flickr I couldn't let pass by called Not Your Granny's Bee. The idea was to make Granny Square Quilt blocks using this strip piecing tutorial.
There are eight of three different backgrounds (Kona White, Kona Charcoal, Kona Snow) for a total of 24. I will be getting back 24 in the Kona Snow color way but all different colored centers...fun! The tutorial is excellent and the blocks go together quickly once you decide placement of your fabrics.
The Happy Mail I received was from the last Blog Hop I did, Think Christmas. I won a cute little set of charms from Deonn of Quiltscapes...thanks so much!! Now I just need to figure out something fun to do with them! Be sure to visit her blog as she has some amazing work shown on her posts!

August Bee Block
Cherie is the recipient of August's Sew.Bee.Create block...
Cherie asked for a block to be made from her Carpenter Star Tutorial...so...many HSTs later...here is her block This is actually much brighter in person, with the rain outside ( :0 yay! ) I wasn't able to take a better picture outside.
I love the fabrics she chose but am dutifully placing the scraps back in the envelope to send her, lol! She tells us this will be for a King size quilt...I am looking forward to seeing that :)

Back to Mario QAL
So here is the Man, Mario finished to go with Boo, so now two down and only 10 more blocks to go, lol!
If you want the patterns and to join in the fun click on the Mario button on the sidebar or click here to go to Angela's blog.
I am using Pellon P44F to stabilize these and am liking the results. I think I will want to use a light batting though to compensate for the heaviness added by the stabilizer...and quilting it may be tough...
The reason I haven't accomplished much lately is that I have been organizing my sewing space and we went on vacation for a few days to this beautiful space...
So the spot above is known as "Fat Woman's Squeeze"...enough said...
This is Rock Bridge...
Couldn't resist this shot in the morning.
My boys headed down "the squeeze"
And this is my new nod to organization, IKEA Alex style...still much work to be done organizing in the drawers but I managed to get the things put together and in my room...a bit of an accomplishment in itself. I am newly acquainted with IKEA as I went visiting the Chicago area this summer and kind of bumped into the place :)
If you are a follower, and haven't entered my Blogiversary giveaway, you have until August 10th, you can find the post here.

Last Day for Think Christmas Blog Hop and the Winner of my Drawing
Thanks to all who entered the drawing for a charm pack of Flurry, I had over 200 of you leave comments! Wow!
I had my son pick a number between 1 and 202 and he chose number 127 which is
Very
good tutorial! Of the last 3 blocks, I prefer the 1st one (tiny print
w/ green swirly large print)It just grabs me.I love Straight No Chaser
group-but don't own any of their music. And Kate Spain, Flurry,is a
favorite of mine. I like the song, 'Mary, did you know?'
as one of my top picks for Christmas. And I understand the engineeric mind set, having married one BUT don't hold it against me that I attended IU!
