So I had an opportunity to spend some time out and about this last week and came away with a couple purchases I thought I'd share in case you thought they were interesting too...
First up, my first trip to Michael's in a long time and I found some lettered clothespins that will be great for all those quilt patterns that use letters for the various pieces...
I also found some plain clothespins of the same size that I can number for the numbered patterns (you know the ones...26 pieces aren't enough to cover them all so they switch to numbers...) Target had a perfect size plastic latch box to store them in too!
Since my Long Time Gone Quilt is actually now quilted and just needs to be bound and revealed I was naughty and bought Jen Kingwell's newest sampler pattern and fabric kit as Amitie is having a grand opening sale...I couldn't resist. I believe the sale is still on... This one is a bit more challenging as it has quite a few paper templates in the designs.
I already had it spiral bound as I find the stapled pamphlets don't stay together for me through all my pawing and paging!! I am looking forward to playing in Jen Kingwell's palette in this one as it is very different from my normal fabric pulls.
Oh you have some wonderful fabric acquisitions, and the idea with the clothes pins is awesome. I have had a couple of things lately with a bazillion pieces.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have been having fun.
ReplyDeleteI guess I should check Michaels more often. It has been months. Love those clothespins.
ReplyDeleteI think a trip to Michaels and Target is in my future. (It's only 5 minutes away.)I can't wait to see your new quilt too. How long did it take to get it from Australia?
ReplyDeleteI need to check out Michaels for those clothespins. Great idea for fabric sorting! Beautiful fabrics...and of course you've already spiral bound that book. You are way more organized than I will ever be!
ReplyDeleteGreat purchases! And a new quilt to start.....
ReplyDeleteThe lettered & numbered clothespins are a great idea. This idea is better than just the letters you place on top of the block pieces...they are forever getting bumped.
