Shenandoah - I'm In!

 So I wanted to take something as handwork to do on our trip and Doreen from Aunt 'Reen has a gorgeous QAL going called Shenandoah Valley Botanical Album Quilt that I found myself ordering.  I am not the only one doing it in wool, it seems...whew!
 Love the texture though my stitches are imperfect...quite a few of these stitches were done in Durango, Colorado while our vehicle was being fixed...seems the transmission didn't want to go into 4th or 5th gear after we left the mountains...the dealer had us in and out and reprogrammed within two hours, no charge.  But my stitches were nervous while we waited to see if a new transmission would be needed, essentially aborting our trip...so thankful that all turned out well :)  Now it will just be part of the "story" of my quilt.
 It was a good thing that I took a few corn pictures when we first got home because the harvest happened a couple days later...I've been seeing an awful lot of deer snacking on what's left!!

    Your stitches look nice and neat to me! I would never even attempt all of that applique, but what a stunning quilt this will be. And I love the wool...it really does give the blocks great texture!

    Since this is one thing I will definitely not be doing with you, I can safely say your stitches look better than mine. Actually, I think they look pretty amazing!

    Oooh, very, very nice. I love Applique and handwork, but I'm not very good at it. Perhaps I should try wool, too! I like the look!

    I am not using wool to do the blocks but what a great way to get them done and look good.

    Your appliqués are so beautiful, Kris! Love that you are using wool for them. That is scary when you have vehicle trouble during trips. We had a bad scare in Utah one time as well, turned out it was only a mud related problem. I am glad that the dealer was able to fix it easily so you didn't have to abort the trip.
