A bit of Sewing amidst a Mess of Cleaning

I have been trying to use my makeshift flannel design wall for the Elephant Parade QAL blocks (find the patterns here)...but my stash is behind those doors, lol...so they are a bit mussed from my peeking in the closet too much!!
This week's pattern was this cute red bird!  Wouldn't a full quilt of these just yell Spring?!
I also put a test block together from the pattern by Blossom Heart Quilts featured on Sew Mama Sew to see if there was interest to make a quilt from them within my small quilt group.  My block says Spring Chain rather than Autumn...hasn't helped to bring Spring here yet, though!
Lastly, I thought I would include a picture of my feedsack bouquet basket since it was in the top picture.  The basket was made by my Aunt Karen and the feedsacks are the few lovelies I have collected.

Sigh, the rest of the room is far too big of a mess to show as I have been just completely tearing it apart to clean and sort!!

I'll be linking up here at Sew Fresh Quilts.

  1. Whenever I clean my messy sewing room it looks like a tornado went through it, but I love the final result of being a little more organized. Your elephants are looking so good and I thought the same thing about the birds. If you make a whole quilt with them you know I will have to, too!

  8. Your elephant parade quilt looks gorgeous! Love the look on the face of the frog. I haven't made my frog yet but need to get right on that. Really like the turtle and the baby elephant fabric too!

  12. Your quilt is so cute. Love the elephants, and the block is very springy. I don't have a closet to really hide my stash in, and my design wall is fleece tacked to the wall in the junk room upstairs in our house now.

  14. The feedsack bouquet basket is beautiful and is definitely made for those lovely fabrics. The test block is looking fab and the Elephant Parade is growing very nicely indeed. I can see the cogs in your brain turning about how to make a bird quilt with those birds :)
