Thanks goes to Mdm Samm and Wendy for hosting this wicked good party! They have done an awesome job of keeping us all in line once again...and I am looking forward to seeing more projects to come!!
Here is my Wicked quilt top...I used a pattern called Spools by Fig Tree Quilts. She had a kit a couple of weeks back that I purchased here. Her version uses more cream background, with more cream sashing between blocks. I changed the pattern to put the spools right next to each other. I think this makes the design appear to be more masculine which makes it more friendly in my household of husband and teenage boy...I think it is a beauty either way!
It is so windy in these pictures, I apologize for the quality...had to take extra bright sun over rain and wind...I felt like Pooh-bear in The Blustery Day...now for some honey, lol! Hey, no kidding we got our first honey harvest this year from our bees...
Anyway, here's another photo with my ceramic pumpkin which SO matches...
And, for fun, I made a wool applique pillow to match...I used this pattern although I only have this one block...I got this at a local quilt shop going out of business and they only had this one...it is a BOM pattern so somebody must not have picked this month up? Their loss was my gain, though it makes me want the rest of the patterns!! Don't you love her cute lil' behind on the broom?!
Thanks for stopping by, be sure to go visit everyone else today...

ReplyDeleteLove your version of the spool quilt. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love Fig Tree and this quilt is stunning. I've so glad you scored with the pillow. It is a stunner. Congrats on your bee honey harvest. I had to laugh. This past summer one of my grandsons was her and he said, "Ga, there's a chicken in your backyard." Well, he's seven and I figured he knew what a chicken was, but ... By the time I got to the back door, there were two chickens in my backyard. I had a good idea where they came from. I am a breast cancer survivor and didn't want chicken droppings in my backyard and I didn't want my lawn guys to have to deal with them either. So, I called the non-emergency police number. When animal control came out, I told them he had a mini pig over there, too. The guy ended up hopping up on our mutual fence and said he had chickens AND a pig. Duh! He couldn't get them to come to the door. He said that wasn't unusual. It's legal to have chickens in the city here. You just have to keep them in your yard. A few days later another animal control officer came out and made contact with the home owner. I didn't try because a couple of years ago he gave permission to the fence company to drive their equipment over my yard and they put ruts in my yard. I wasn't happy. Plus he has PTSD from being in Afghghanistan. I just stay away from him. He has had carpet on his front porch for about three years because they kept the pig in the house most of the time. I found out he also had bees. So, he got rid of the chickens and the pig and apparently kept the bees. The chickens were flying over the fence. I really don't care what he does over there as long as he doesn't bother me. One of his many roommates insists on parking in front of the fire hydrant which is in my yard. His ex-girlfriend set the kitchen on fire when she lived there. There always seems to be drama over there. I'm always excited to see your projects and you very deservedly are named to the wall of fame for today. Congrats. I'm always thrilled to see your entries. They inspire me and make me smile.
