Star Blocks Done

So this project has been good to get back into more sewing without any stress...
I think these are destined to become a baby quilt...I used up a lot of my orange scraps on these along with the tri recs rulers see this post for more details...

My peonies and poppies are BEAutiful this week :)

I am also playing around with a free Mimi Kirchner pattern for a wool felt doll generously provided by her and hosted by Purl Bee.  Here is my current progress...
You can find the pattern here: http://www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2009/4/8/mimi-kirchners-hand-sewn-felt-doll.htmlhttp//www.purlbee.com/the-purl-bee/2009/4/8/mimi-kirchners-hand-sewn-felt-doll.html
Mimi has a blog and this doll in a kilt just blew me away, so well done...I just love him.  It helps that my guy does Scottish Highland Games...I think her doll really  needs a caber!  Since she doesn't sell the pattern for that guy I guess I will satisfy this itch with the girlie pattern :)
I am doing this doll sew along with an aunt who doesn't blog unfortunately or I could show her finished doll...very sweet :)

If you need the supplies for this Purl Bee has them for sale or another option would be these wool bundles from Michelle at Raspberry Rabbits which is where much of my felt came from.

Time for a Teddy Bear

I have had this guy done for awhile but waited for Wendi from Shiny Happy World to release the pattern as it was part of the Cuddle Club series.

Here he is in my sewing room mess...

And here he is sunning himself on the patio...

This is a pattern from the Cuddle Club at Shiny Happy World.  It was a pretty easy sew and I really like the warm brown color of the fur.  The muzzle was fun to stitch and embroider and he's very soft and cuddly :)  She has added lots of touchably soft features like suede on the footpads and hands that make this a really fun guy to hold.

I have good news from my gardens as things are finally starting to bloom around here, feels a bit late this year but we will take it:
and the poppy plants and peonies are not far behind, yay!!

Playing with Stars

I have been playing the last week or so with Kona School Bus orange fabric and some old BOM patterns that I got from a clearance bin for a dollar at a shop hop a few years ago...
The block with the blue in it came from using the shop fabric with the pattern...I will probably remake it to match the others but I was still trying to decide if I wanted to work with something other than orange...ummm...no, I don't, lol!
I only have a few of the patterns so I think we'll have to mostly make it up as we go along...
These use the Tri Recs rulers and go together fast and easy...I am playing with a friend on this one, hers are pretty batiks.

Circus Bear Pincushion

I haven't been in the mood to sew the last couple of weeks...there, I said it!

I don't know why but the Blahs hit me hard this month.  I am dipping my toes back in with a cute feltie pattern I found here from RicRac.

I added a blanket because I couldn't bear to stick pins in the bear!!

I still need to find a cute button for his tail.
